Alexa – Sprachdienst -> Echo und Echo Dot (Firma Amazon)
API (Application programming interface key) – Programmierschnittstelle, d.h. ein Programmteil, das von einem Softwaresystem anderen Programmen zur Anbindung an das System zur Verfügung gestellt wird
AppleTV – Box, die per HDMI-Kabel an den Fernseher angeschlossen wird. Man kann damit u.a. Filme, Videos und Musik zeitnah übertragen oder speichern
Application – Anwendungsprogramm
Arduino MKR WAN 1300 – Mikrocontroller für Experimente, der programmiert und mit verschiedenen Sensoren bestückt werden kann -> ENV Shield
Blynk – Plattform für die Entwicklung von Apps für das IoT, z.B. für die anschauliche Darstellung von Sensordaten auf einem Smartphone, siehe auch
Channel ID und API Key – Zugangsschlüssel für die Nutzung eines Programms, das dann einen (Sende-Empfangs-)Kanal mit einer Autorenkennung freigibt, z.b. bei Thingspeak
Cluedo – Brettspiel, bei dem durch Kombinieren von Hinweisen ein Mordfall aufgeklärt werden muss
CO2-Sensor – Sensor zur Messung von Kohlenstoffdioxid und damit der Raumluftqualität
ConBee II Zigbee-Stick – Verbindungs-Stick, der Messdaten empfängt und sie an einen Minicomputer weitergibt
Echo und Echo Dot – smarte Lautsprecher, die über den Sprachdienst Alexa steuerbar sind (Firma Amazon)
ENV Shield – Bausatz mit mehreren Sensoren, die zusammen mit Mikrocontrollern eingesetzt werden können -> Arduino MKR WAN 1300
Fing (App)
Gosund-Steckdose – smarte Steckdose vom Hersteller Gosund; smart, weil das Gerät sich mit anderen Geräten im Internet vernetzen kann
GPS-Sensor (Tracker) – Gerät, mit dem Ortsveränderungen erfasst werden können
Hangouts – ehemaliges Angebot der Firma google für Videokonferenzen und Sofortnachrichten (2013-2020)
Hektopascal – Maßeinheit für Luftdruck und Dampfdruck
IoBroker – Softwarelösung, die Komponenten zur Gebäudeautomatisierung von den verschiedensten Anbietern hersteller- und protokoll-neutral in einer Plattform miteinander verbindet
IoT (Internet of things, Internet der Dinge) – Vernetzung von Gegenständen
LCD-Anzeige (liquid crystal display) – Flüssigkristallanzeige
LED (light-emitting diode) – Leuchtdiode
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) – Funktechnologie für die Datenübertragung im Internet der Dinge
Mikrocontroller – einfaches Computersystem, mit dem Informationen, z.B. von Sensoren, verarbeitet und und zur Anzeige gebracht werden können
Mikrocontroller Arduino Pro Mini – spezieller Mikrocontroller der Firma Arduino
Octopus-Gerät (Octopus-Platine, IoT-Octopus) – Platine mit WLAN, Mikrocontroller und Sensoren für das Internet der Dinge, entwickelt als Lernplatine für Schüler, die den Einstieg in das Internet der Dinge erleichtern soll
Payload-Decoder – ein Payload Decoder verwandelt eine Liste von Bytes sowie den Port der Nachricht (Messergebnisse) in ein normalisiertes Objekt um, das die eingesetzte Plattform (z.B.TTN) verstehen kann
PCB-Leiterplatte – Träger für elektronische Bauteile
Plattform – auch Schicht oder Ebene genannt – bezeichnet in der Informatik eine einheitliche Grundlage, auf der Anwendungsprogramme ausgeführt und entwickelt werden können
Powerbank – Zusatzakku insbesondere für Smartphones und Tablets
Raspberry Pi – Minicomputer
Reedkontakt – Reed-Kontakte, auch Reedschalter genannt, reagieren auf Magnetfelder
Router – Gerät, das den Computer mit dem Internet verbindet
Sensor – Fühler, Messgerät
Solarpanel – Bauteil, das zur Umwandlung von Licht in Solarstrom dient

ToF-Sensor- Laufzeitsensoren z.B. für Entfernungsmessung oder auch Gestenerkennung
Tracker oder Tracking-Node – Ortungsgeräte
Transceiver (Lora Transceiver RFM95W) – von englisch transmitter ‚Sender‘ und receiver ‚Empfänger‘, ist eine Kombination von beidem
TTN – Plattform für Daten, die mit LoraWan-Funk gesendet werden
TTN Mapper – Website, auf der Informationen zum Netz von The Thingsnetwork angezeigt werden
USB-Steckdose – USB-Steckdosen ermöglichen die direkte Verbindung von Geräten mit USB-Anschlüssen mit dem Haushaltsstrom
USB-Treiber – Software für angeschlossene Hardware, wie z.B. Maus, Drucker u.a.
UV – Ultraviolette Strahlung, man unterscheidet zwischen drei Arten: UVA (langwellig, dringt bis in die Lederhaut), UVB (kurzwelliger, trifft obere Hautschicht) und UVC (so kurzwellig, dass sie von der Ozonschicht abgefangen wird)
Wettersensoren (Wetternode) – messen z.B. Temperatur, relative Luftfeuchtigkeit, Luftdruck, Windrichtung, Windgeschwindigkeit und Niederschlagsintensität und senden die Daten an ein angeschlossenes Gerät
WLAN (Wireless local area network) – Lokales Funknetz
WLAN-Netzwerkschlüssel – Zugangsdaten des WLANs

Alexa – voice service -> Echo and Echo Dot (Amazon company).
API (Application programming interface key) – Programming interface, i.e. a part of a programme that is made available by a software system to other programmes for connection to the system.
AppleTV – Box that is connected to the television via HDMI cable. It can be used to transfer or store films, videos and music in real time.

Arduino MKR WAN 1300 – microcontroller for experiments that can be programmed and equipped with various sensors -> ENV Shield
Blynk – platform for the development of apps for the IoT, e.g. for the vivid display of sensor data on a smartphone, more information
Channel ID and API Key – Access key for the use of a programme, which then releases a (send-receive) channel with an author ID, e.g. with Thingspeak.
Cluedo – Board game in which a murder case must be solved by combining clues.
CO2 sensor – Sensor for measuring carbon dioxide and thus the quality of the air in a room.
ConBee II Zigbee stick – connection stick that receives measurement data and passes it on to a mini-computer
Echo and Echo Dot – smart speakers that can be controlled via the Alexa voice service (Amazon company)
ENV Shield – kit with several sensors that can be used together with microcontrollers -> Arduino MKR WAN 1300
Fing (app)
Gosund socket – smart socket from the manufacturer Gosund; smart because the device can network with other devices on the Internet
GPS sensor (tracker) – device with which changes in location can be recorded
Hangouts – former offering by google for video conferencing and instant messaging (2013-2020)
Hectopascal – unit of measurement for air pressure and vapour pressure
IoBroker – software solution that connects building automation components from a wide range of suppliers in a single platform, independent of manufacturer and protocol.

LCD – Liquid crystal display
LED – light-emitting diode
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) – radio technology for data transmission in the Internet of Things
Microcontroller – simple computer system with which information, e.g. from sensors, can be processed and displayed.
Microcontroller Arduino Pro Mini – special microcontroller from the company Arduino
Octopus device (Octopus board, IoT Octopus) – board with WLAN, microcontroller and sensors for the Internet of Things, developed as a learning board for schoolchildren to facilitate entry into the Internet of Things
Payload decoder – a payload decoder converts a list of bytes as well as the port of the message (measurement results) into a normalised object that the platform used (e.g. TTN) can understand
PCB (printed circuit board) – carrier for electronic components
Platform – also called layer or level – in computer science refers to a uniform basis on which application programs can be executed and developed.
Powerbank – additional battery especially for smartphones and tablets
Raspberry Pi – mini-computer
Reed contact – Reed contacts, also called reed switches, react to magnetic fields.
Router – device that connects the computer to the Internet
Sensor – feeler, measuring device
Solar panel – Component used to convert light into solar electricity

ToF sensor – runtime sensors, e.g. for distance measurement or gesture recognition
Tracker or tracking node – locating devices
Transceiver (Lora Transceiver RFM95W) – from transmitter and receiver, a combination of both.
TTN – platform for data transmitted by LoraWan radio
TTN Mapper – website that displays information about The Thingsnetwork network.
USB socket – USB sockets allow devices with USB ports to connect directly to household power
USB driver – Software for connected hardware, such as a mouse, printer, etc.
UV – Ultraviolet radiation, a distinction is made between three types: UVA (long-wave, penetrates to the dermis), UVB (short-wave, hits upper layer of skin) and UVC (so short-wave that it is intercepted by the ozone layer)
Frahling sensors (weather node) – measure e.g. temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind direction, wind speed and precipitation intensity and send the data to a connected device
WLAN (Wireless local area network) – Local radio network
WLAN network key – access data of the WLAN
